Due to a communication error the Senior DVD’s were not passed out at Senior breakfast.   These are for all Seniors who went to Prom and SNAP.

We have volunteers staged throughout the area with the DVD’s – most have covered porches with the DVDs on them,  for seniors to pick up at their convenience.  There will also be some left at the front desk at Cy-Creek until Friday 6/11/2010 only.

SNAP BUCKS

What are SNAP Bucks?

SNAP Bucks are play money that can be converted into raffle tickets to win prizes at SNAP or casino money to play casino games at SNAP.  SNAP Bucks can not be used to purchase a SNAP ticket.

Here’s how it works:

Parents and students can earn SNAP Bucks by helping with our efforts to raise money, planning the event and helping at the event itself.

100,000  Bucks               Each senior who buys a ticket or whose parent becomes a parent sponsor prior to the event.

5,000  Bucks                 Awarded to each parent each time they attend a monthly meeting.

1,000  Bucks                  A drawing will be held at each monthly meeting.

5,000  Bucks                 For each hour of parent or senior student volunteer time.

5,000 Bucks                 Awarded for each parent in our email volunteer data base.

500     Bucks                  For each $1.00 donated to our “Busy Parent Buyout”

75,000  Bucks               Committee Chairs. Committee Chairs will also receive the 5,000 bucks/hour

for any hours worked over 25 hours.

 250,000  Bucks             Executive Committee members

A record of total SNAP Bucks will be kept and that total will be given to the student at check in of SNAP.             The conversion rate is $5,000 SB/raffle ticket or $_________casino dollars. (TBD)

Tips for a Successful SNAP:

bullet Get the school administration, the students and the community behind your event to insure success

bullet Induce local businesses to donate products for door prizes

bullet Find the money you need and what to say to people to compel them to donate

bullet "Sell" the party to the students as an acceptable alternative to what they would rather be doing

bullet Throw a party so tempting that teens (who don't go to the prom) will beg to attend

bullet Choose a party theme and decorate inexpensively

bullet Plan the menu - and get them discounted - or free

bullet Structure the party so that excitement never wanes

bullet Manage the 'lock in' and ensure that no one leaves early

bullet Protect yourself, your organization and the school from liability issues

bullet Develop and get the students to agree on 'lock-in' and arrival/departure party policies

bullet Write appeal letters to businesses

bullet Select the right venue to accommodate your party requirements

bullet Identify security concerns and how to prepare for them

bullet Attract publicity from the media to help promote the party to students, parents and the community

bullet Create a budget and stick to the plan
